Oyo Acting Gov Commissions Kajola Ultra-Modern Market in Ogbomoso

Acting Governor of Oyo State, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, commissioned the Kajola Ultra-modern market in Ogbomoso, stating that the current administration will continue to intensify efforts to liberalize the state’s economy.

He said, “On behalf of Governor Seyi Makinde, I am happy to be here to commission this ultra-modern market for the economic expansion of Ogbomoso.

Our government is prepared and ready to assist our people and will continue to intensify efforts that will liberalize the economy of the state.”

Lawal commended Governor Makinde for his efforts in expanding the town’s economy, including taking over the ownership of LAUTECH and connecting the Iseyin-Fapote Ogbomoso road.

He also praised the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi, for conceiving and realizing the ultra-modern market, and urged the Ogbomoso South Local Government chairman and people to ensure adequate security and cleanliness.

He noted, “The Security of this market place is so important and we must not play with it. Likewise, we must ensure absolute cleanliness within the market.”

Lawal added, “Let me remind you that we have foreigners in the state parading themselves as miners. You could remember that about 10 trailers were apprehended loaded with lithium around Ogbomoso axis. So, I urge you to cooperate with Oyo government to ensure adequate security of the zone.”

The Onipetu of Ijeruland, Oba Sunday Oladapo Oyeniran, commended Governor Makinde for keeping his promise and praised Ogunwuyi for his effective representation.

He said, “If you are not ready to bring development to this town, you can never be my friend. So, I urge all sons and daughters of the zone to be contributing to the development of the town rather than flaunting wealth anyhow in the town.”

The event was attended by top government functionaries, including the Chief of Staff, Hon. Segun Ogunwuyi; Commissioners; local government chairmen; members of the elder and advisory council, and many others.

The commissioner for local government and Chieftaincy matters, Hon. Ademola Ojo, noted that the market is the first to be constructed in Omituntun 2.0 and will enhance business and commercial activities in the state.
