The University of Ibadan(UI) protest against tuition fee hike in the early hours of Friday, has intensified with the arrival of heavy security forces, including two Nigerian Army vehicles, amidst the demonstrating students.
The campus is now on edge as the military presence has increased tensions, even as students persist in their boycotts and protests against the recent tuition fee increase.
Undeterred by the heightened security, the students continue to march and chant slogans, demanding a reversal of the fee hike.
The deployment of the army has sparked concerns among the student body about a potential escalation of the situation.
