The Oyo State Government, through the Ministry of Education, Science and Technology, has distributed 96 laptops to the Education Management Information System (EMIS) Offices across the 33 Local Government Areas of the State.

The Commissioner for Education, Science and Technology, Prof AbdulWaheed Adelabu Salihu, while presenting the laptops to the beneficiaries at the Ministry in Ibadan, said that the State Government is working assiduously to reduce the number of out-of-school children in the State.

Prof Salihu explained that the laptops were being given to EMIS Officers across the State to facilitate the collation of data on out-of-school children under the Better Education Service Delivery for All Additional Financing – Transforming Education Systems at State Level (BESDA AF-TESS) project.

The programme is a form of Educational Grant from the Global Partnership for Education (GPE) in collaboration with the World Bank.
