Oyo Receives CNG Buses from Federal Government

On Monday, the Oyo State Government received a donation of 20 Compressed Natural Gas (CNG) buses from the federal government.

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, represented by Michael Oluwagbemi, CEO and Programme Director of the Presidential Compressed Natural Gas Initiative (P-CNGi), explained that this initiative aims to mitigate the effects of fuel subsidy removal and promote a safer, cleaner, and more reliable nation.

Oluwagbemi highlighted President Tinubu’s commitment to improving the lives of Nigerians, recognizing the crucial role of transportation in the country’s economic development.

The deployment of CNG buses addresses issues related to petrol importation and aims to end the era of enriching a select few, leveraging Nigeria’s abundant natural gas resources to alleviate hardship.

President Tinubu emphasized the need to utilize Nigeria’s gas resources to drive growth in transportation, industries, food production, and fertilizer manufacturing, ultimately making life easier for citizens.

Oluwagbemi acknowledged that this transition may require short-term sacrifices but expressed determination to demonstrate the government’s commitment.

The 20 CNG buses, presented as a sustainable partnership with Pacesetter Transport Service (PTS), are expected to generate income and contribute to a brighter future for Oyo State and Nigeria.
