Oyo Govt. Compensates Ajia Houses, Properties’ owners.

The Oyo State Government has begun disbursing compensation to property owners affected by the recent land acquisition along the Ajia Inukan LCDA corridor in Ona Ara Local Government. Commissioner for Lands, Housing, and Urban Development, Mr. Williams Akin-Funmilayo, made this announcement during a meeting with claimants on Monday.

Akin-Funmilayo explained that the government acquired the land for various developmental projects, including the construction of an Air Force Base, General Hospital, and ICT center in Ajia, Ona Ara Local Government area.

To compensate affected property owners, the state government has allocated N513,462,446.50.

The commissioner emphasized that this compensation is a vital step in maintaining a positive relationship between the government and residents.

Prior to the payment, the state government conducted an identification and verification exercise for property owners, followed by a valuation of their properties.

One of the beneficiaries, Mr. Adedokun Olalekan, expressed his gratitude to Governor Engr Seyi Makinde for his empathy towards the people of Oyo State.
