The Oyo State Commissioner for Youth and Sports, Honourable Wasilat Adegoke has stormed various area Boys locations in Ibadan, communicating desire of the Governor of Oyo State, Engr. Seyi Makinde to empower and uplift the youths.
The Commissioner, accompanied by a team of Youth Stakeholders visited notorious hotspots, including Beere, Agugu, Molete and Oremeji, where she interacted with the area Boys, listening to their concerns and aspirations.
Adegoke emphasized The Governor’s commitment to youth development, and also highlighted the initiatives of the Oyo State government which is aimed at providing the youths with skills acquisition, education, and employment opportunities. She encouraged the Area Boys to embrace these programs, assuring them of the government’s support.
“We recognize your potential and want to channel your energy positively,” Adegoke stated. “Governor Makinde is eager to see you thrive and contribute to Oyo State’s growth.”
The Area Boys, initially skeptical, responded enthusiastically, sharing their experiences and ideas. They expressed gratitude for the Commissioner’s willingness to engage with them directly.
