Oyo APC, PDP Mourns, Directs Members to Pray for Omodewu

The All Progressives Congress (APC) in Oyo State has expressed deep shock and sadness over the passing of its chairman, Isaac Omodewu. Omodewu’s demise, which occurred on Sunday evening in the United States, has been described as “devastating” and a “colossal loss” to the party.

 

In a statement, Publicity Secretary Olawale Sadare said: “A big Iroko has fallen, and a huge vacuum has been created in our party. Our late chairman embodied humility, kindness, and selflessness. He took the reins as state chairman during a turbulent period and worked tirelessly to stabilize the party.”

 

The statement continued: “It is regrettable that he passed away at this time, just as his efforts towards total reconciliation were beginning to bear fruit. We extend our condolences to President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, our National Chairman, and the entire APC faithful in Nigeria.

” May God grant him eternal rest and give his loved ones the strength to bear this irreparable loss.”

The deceased, Omodewu died on Sunday in United States of America, where he had been receiving treatment for an undisclosed illness since November 2023. He served as a Commissioner during between 2011 and 2019, during the two-term Oyo State administration of Late Senator Abiola Ajimobi.

The People’s Democratic Party in Oyo State also expressed its sadness over the death of Barrister Isaac Omodewu, the Chairman of the All Progressives Congress in Oyo State.

In a statement signed by the Chairman, Secretary and the Acting PRO of the PDP in the state, the demise of the APC Chairman was described as a ‘collosal loss’ to the people of Oyo State.

The statement released by Oyo PDP highlighted the Omodewu’s contributions as a Commissioner, Community leader and political figure in the state. He was noted to have served in the Local Government and Chieftaincy Matters, Lands Housing and Survey, Physical Planning ant Urban Development ministries in the state.

Additionally, the People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state has directed its members to enjoin in praying for the repose of Omodewu’s soul. The People’s Democratic Party in Oyo state further extended its condolence to APC, friends and family of the deceased.
