The Osun State Internal Revenue Service (OIRS) has issued a stern warning to business owners who have failed to meet their tax obligations, stating that it will begin sealing off defaulting premises starting today, Monday, 12th of August.

According to a statement released by OIRS Information Officer, Oluwaseun Ayeni, the agency’s chairman, Mr. Adesola Adewumi, announced an awareness campaign in Osogbo, the state capital.
Adewumi, who was represented by the Director of Legal and Enforcement, Mr. Deji Atoyebi, emphasized that the statewide enforcement exercise is scheduled to commence in May.
The OIRS chairman urged all tax-defaulting businesses to settle their dues promptly to avoid any inconveniences during the closure.

Harmonized demand notices have been served to the affected businesses, and the state government is prepared to take enforcement action to bring defaulters to book.
Business owners are advised to take immediate action to avoid any disruptions to their operations.
