The Olubadan of Ibadanland, Oba Owolabi Olakulehin, will officially relocate to the new ultramodern Olubadan Palace at Oke Aremo, in the Ibadan North Local Government Area of Oyo State on Wednesday.
Since his coronation as Olubadan Of Ibadan, the monarch has been residing in his private residence at the Alalubosa Government Reserved Area of the town.

Recall that, the Oyo State Governor, Seyi Makinde, on Wednesday, July 10, 2024, unveil and commissioned the new palace, facilitated by prominent Ibadan indigenes.
OySun also gathered that the Old palace of Olubadan, located at Oja’ba in the Ibadan South East Local Government Area of the state, was last occupied by the late Olubadan Yesufu Asanike, who reigned between 1983 and 1993.

Successive Olubadans who reigned since 1993 after the late Oba Asanike, were said to have been ruling from their respective private residences instead of the palace.
Sources from the palace confirmed the authenticity of the information to newsmen in an interview, and noted that the Olubadan of Ibadan, Oba Olakulehin has been ruling from his residence. They noted that the monarch will be moving to his newly built palace, and therefore will be receiving visitors in the palace.
