The Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Osun State has stated that there would be a closure of the Oja Ọba – Ibokun Road Roundabout from 3pm on Friday, 5th July, 2024. This was stated in a press statement released on Wednesday, July 3rd by the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Engr. Bashir Bello.
Stating the reason In the Press Statement, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, Engr. Bashir Bello said it is to allow the reconstruction of the inadequate culvert on the road. He explained that the Inadequate culvert has caused perennial flooding, and to reconstruction of the culvert will prevent the flooding to further continue.
He stated the repercussion of the closure to affect the motorists coming from Testing Ground, Iludun, Ibokun Road, Ilesa Garage and Akede Iyaloja area, as they won’t be able to access the Oke Baale area from Ibokun road Roundabout.
Motorist were therefore advised to detour from East Bypass (Ibokun Road Roundabout) to Arogunmosa to Gbeja to Adejolu junction or John Mackay Junction, Ìta Olookan to their destination.
The statement further added that motorist coming from Oja Ọba axis of Oshogbo are to detour at Adejolu Junction to Gbeja to Costain Road to Arogunmosa to East Bypass.
The Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Works and Infrastructure in Osun State, Engr. Bashir Bello also noted that the the Osun State Government regret the inconvenience that the development may cause the road users.
