Oyo State Acting Governor, Barrister Abdul-Raheem Adebayo Lawal, has promoted his convoy escort commander, Mr. Adekunle Odejimi, to the rank of Superintendent of Police 1. The brief ceremony took place at the Governor’s office on Monday, attended by the Governor’s Chief Security Officer, CSP Adepetu Ayodeji, SP Ayodeji Ogundele, and Mrs. Damilola Odejimi, a police officer and the celebrant’s wife.
Acting Governor Lawal congratulated SP Odejimi on his elevation, describing him as a proud and dedicated officer who is always well-kitted and alert. He praised Odejimi’s commitment to his job, saying, “He’s always fit and running despite his age.”
Lawal expressed his delight at the promotion, stating, “I’m not surprised by this promotion. I remember observing ASP Odejimi’s professionalism during our recent trips to Lagos and Abuja. He stood out among his peers, and this promotion is a testament to his hard work.”
SP Odejimi thanked God and the acting governor for the honor, also expressing gratitude to the Deputy Governor’s office staff for celebrating with him.
Acting Governor Lawal urged SP Odejimi and other police officers to continue working hard and remain dedicated to their duties, reminding them that their actions are being watched by the public.
